Minchu's Third Week: Pee Victories, Poop Protocols & Floor-Level Living

Hey, hey, it's Minchu again! Week three on Earth and I've unlocked some wild new skills: peeing in sinks, peeing in buckets, peeing on people… honestly, my bladder's become a tool for experimentation. I feel like a scientist. I am a scientist!

In case you missed last week's post, its here. You can also follow along my weekly journey here!

My week of growth

Big update: I now weigh 3.68 kg - and everyone clapped! I had no idea gaining grams was this exciting, but I'm here for the celebration 🎉 They were saying I've crossed my birth weight, whatever that means.

I guess I also became taller - Appa measured me using a string with numbers. Maybe it's all the holricks my mother is drinking. They keep calling my fingers “long like cluster beans.” Is that a good thing?

The EC Revolution (Elimination Communication)

We went to a workshop with Subbi aunty and Amma, and now they’re trying something called "EC." It means they try to guess when I want to pee or poop - and then aim me at buckets or sinks. It’s a wild game of roulette:

  • I peed in a bucket! (twice!)
  • Pooped in a bucket!
  • Peeed on Appa. On Amma. On the bed. On the sofa. Honestly? Is there something I haven't peed on?
  • I even peed after Appa said I wouldn’t. Take that, logic!

Sometimes I get tickled to trigger it. Sometimes they chant "psss psss," and I feel like a kitten. Adults are hilarious.

Bath Time & Massage Rituals

Every morning, Sindhu Mai comes to give me a lovely warm oil bath. I stretch, I squeak, I kick, and sometimes I pee on the massage sheet for dramatic effect.

Appa preps the dhoopa for both of us like a seasoned temple priest. I just love the smell!

Sleepy Adventures

  • I’ve started sleeping more in the afternoons, especially when the "cooler" is turned on. I do not like being hot and swaddled.
  • Nighttime is still confusing. Sometimes I wake up for a snack, just to fart. It’s unpredictable. Keeps things exciting!

Also, I slept on Appa's lap for a whole nap - Best. Nap. Ever. 💖

Room Makeover!

Appa took apart the big, tall bed and made our sleeping area floor-level. Now Ammamma can sit with us comfortably. The room feels like a palace!

Also, I do tummy time on the new bed and tried pushing myself forward using my legs! Everyone panicked, but I just wanted to explore 😎

People I Met

  • Neighbour Aunty, but I pretended to be asleep and stayed cute 🥰
  • Manasa Aunty & her daughter - they came home and we hung out! Her daughter was very curious about me.
  • Appa's appa and amma, and my cousin Munnu all got calls from us while I was multitasking (peeing + smiling). I think Munnu is very cute! I'm just waiting to meet her soon...

Things I'm Learning

  • Still grabbing Appa’s fingers with a super grip. He melts every time.
  • Tummy time = adventure zone. I lift my head and sway it like a pro now.
  • Trying to copy Appa’s chill vibe during meditation time. It's harder than it looks.
  • I definitely prefer cooler environments. Who invented this swaddling business - I hate it!

My Inner Monologue This Week

Sometimes, when Amma and Appa are tired, I cry just to remind them I’m still here (and cute). They say I look like a philosopher — I just have a lot of thoughts. Mostly about milk and pee, I guess.

Life is funny. Sometimes I poop in a bucket, sometimes on Appa’s pants. Sometimes I sleep through the night, sometimes I do interpretive dance in the dark. Either way, I’m surrounded by love and snacks. What more could a tiny human want?

Minchu's Week 3 Stats

  • Feedings: Less in the night, more when the sun is out!
  • Poops: Once in a diaper, once in the bucket... on most days.
  • Sleep Pattern: Longer when the sun is out.
  • Special Skills: Making the adults give up on EC and then peeing everywhere!
  • Favorite Activity: Missing the bucket when the adults make me pee

Until next week,
Minchu (Chief Pee Officer)

P.S. I overheard that my name means "lightning." No pressure, right?
